General Rules
1. Keep all out of character information, conversations, etc out of character. This means you cannot use information that you know and the character does not and that when speaking as yourself (and not the character) you are to indicate this by either using )) marks, ], or marking OOC before posting.
2. Don't be a douchebag. This goes to say treat others with basic respect. You don't have to like anyone here. They don't have to like you but while you are participating in this role play you will be expected to treat one other with respect.
3. No God Moding. We define God-moding as taking control of another player's character. For example: Sam pushes Chris making him fall into an oddly placed vat of fire ants and watches as he writhes in torment. No that doesn't work here...as amusing as it may be. Sam may make a motion to push Chris but it is up to him if he lands in the vat of fire ants and writhes in pain.
4. No power playing. We define power playing as having OMGWTF power. For example: Chris summons a vortex of psychic energy that moves to absorb Andrew and destroy him beyond recognition by means of tiny beams of light. While the attack is stil up to Andrew if it hits it's still WTF powerful. This rule is in place due to the recent overhaul in which all of the OMGWTF powerful characters were either cycled out or toned down one way or another. If you are unsure if your character is too powerful, please contact a moderator.
5. No chat speak in character. Out of character you can type u and wtf an brb but while you are in character it is nothing short of completely unacceptable. For example ('Cause I damn well can): Andrew: o hi guyz! wut r u up 2? *Jackie proceeds to brain Andrew with a cinderblock* *Sam allows it* *The real Andrew wonders how the hell he got involved in this example anyways and shakes his head at the lack of realism involved* Okay an example wasn't necessary but the whole scene was incredibly amusing while this was being written.
6. Epic Storylines are allowed by approval only. An Epic Storyline is one that involves the Magistia setting as a whole. The problem with these is that in the past such storylines have been sent up and then the one instigating them doesn't show up. This limits what role play can be done while waiting for the person to show up and has in the past resulted in the storyline getting cancelled. Approval only.
7. Don't feed Jackie after mid-night.
8. Out of character conversation can be fun...and incredibly amusing at times but there is a time and place for it. When a moderator says that it is time to get back in character, get back in character or sit out. Either way, don't interrupt the flow of role play. We are a role play community and role play is expected.
9. Do not ask to become a moderator. The answer will be no. The moderators here are the ones that the founder (Sam) has known for years and has grown to trust. If she wants you to become a moderator, she will let you know. Otherwise, she doesn't want to hear it.
