Star Wars: The Remnants of War:

For over a century, the Dark Wars have been over. Seven Years ago, the unsteady peace that had managed to settle over the galaxy was disrupted by a Sith Lord known as Darth Strafe who managed to gather the remains of the Sith Empire, nearly uniting them under one banner.

The war raged on for a year before a Jedi Knight known as Eli Venn-Tarr entered the fray and put an end to the would be Dark Lord of the Sith. The victory came with a price however as many of the few remaining Jedi were destroyed.

Still hobbling from the destruction the short war wrought on the Galaxy, the Jedi have mantained a front of strength. Meanwhile, the Sith are in chaos from the power vaccuum that resulted in the defeat of Darth Strafe.

With the impending threat of the Sith once more uniting under a single banner, the Jedi are ever on guard finding a need to spread themselves thinner than their numbers will allow.

Meanwhile, the senate has elected a new Supreme Chancellor who vows to ween the Republic of its dependence on the Jedi Order with the belief that the wars with the Sith are nothing more than Jedi versus Jedi. It is the Chancellor's hope to keep the Republic out of any further wars between the groups.

Far from the core of the galaxy, a valuable new material has been discovered, an extremely potent spice known as Spectral Spice. With the Jedi Numbers spread thin, crime lords are taking advantage of any resource available to get their hands on the highly prized spice.
