Introduction
Where to begin?
Magistia is a dream come true for me. It is a medieval fantasy role play. It is a small community. It is a place to escape a mundane world. We have been at this for eight years come January 18th 2009. Through Magistia I feel that I have grown up, learned the importance of good leadership, and made some of the best friends I will ever find. You are witnessing perhaps the greatest triumph in my short life.
It started off in the year 2001 as my fourteen year old self sought out a place to call my own. I wanted structure. I wanted rules. I wanted respect. At the time I didn't realize just how much work that would require. The initial model of Magistia's structure was based on that of another roleplay also popular on MSN chats (Where we first began). It was a community I had been admiring for a while and though their structure worked for them, Magistia had to work out it's own way. In time, I drifted away from trying to copy how they ran things and with the help of my friends, we began to create something that suited us.
We apparently did something right. We're still here and though (at the moment) we are few, we are as strong as ever. We are still creating this world and watching it evolve. We have all gotten older and most of us are adults now. As children we needed Magistia as a means to to have control in our lives. As adults, we go back to a place where everything is possible.
Thank you everyone for making this dream so real for me. I don't think I could have survived as a teenager without you. If you are new here, relax. We're mostly harmless. Show us you truly want to be a part of this and we will do everything we can to get you involved right away. If you had once been a member, it is never too late to come back. Unless I banned you, you are always welcome here. For those who have been here through it all, I owe you more than I can ever repay.
Don't worry, this letter is almost over. I do have some things you should always keep in mind. First, don't pretend to live out the life of your dreams too much, you might miss out on the real thing. Love is not always romantic. Beauty is created through passion. You often have to spend your time as someone else to truly find yourself.
Thank you for bringing passion to a hopless case. It is because of Magistia that I am the person I am today. You have brought beauty to my life and it means everything to me.
